WASHINGTON, DC – This week the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to pass the bipartisan Food and Drug Amendments of 2022 (H.R. 7667), which included the Diagnostic Device Advisory Committee Act (H.R. 7192) introduced by Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) earlier this year. The bill now heads to the Senate for a vote.

These measures are supported by the majority of Americans. The Protecting Our Kids Act passed the House 223-204.

ISSAQUAH, WA – Today, after the Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Office of Inspector General (OIG) released their report on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system rollout at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) vowed to continue to hold the VA accountable to ensure Veterans are receiving the quality care they deserve. The OIG is an internal office tasked with investigations and inspections of VA programs and services.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) participated in an Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee hearing about the ongoing baby formula shortage. Rep. Schrier, the first and only pediatrician elected to Congress, pushed the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Abbott Nutrition about the steps they have taken to mitigate the shortage and what can be done to make sure it never happens again. Final vote of price gouging bill

WASHINGTON, DC – Today the House passed Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08)’s bill, the Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act that she recently introduced with Congresswoman Katie Porter (CA-45) to protect families’ wallets at the gas pump. Rep. Schrier’s remarks can be found here. Earlier this year, Congresswoman Schrier introduced a bill that would temporarily remove a gas tax through the end of the year.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) announced her Community Project Funding (CPF) priorities for this fiscal year. Community Project Funding provides the opportunity for Representatives to directly identify important local projects that can benefit from federal funding.  All 10 of Rep. Schrier’s priorities from last year were funded as part of the government funding bill that was signed into law in March.
