Schrier Takes Bold Action - Votes for Toughest Border Security Package in History

April 4, 2024

ISSAQUAH, WA – Representative Kim Schrier (WA-08) voted with House Republicans for the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024.

“I am pleased to see this final appropriations package head to President Biden's desk. In addition to all of the customary annual investments in federal programs, this is a huge investment in national security at our southern border and here at home in Washington State. It would provide funding for 22,000 border patrol agents, $19.6B for the United States Customs and Border Protection Agency - the largest investment we have ever made in border security – and a $400M increase for CBP to improve their ability to detect and seize fentanyl and other drugs,” said Representative Kim Schrier. “I have heard from voters across WA-08 and I know how important this issue is. Funding our border is an important first step, but we must continue working to fix our broken immigration system and improve security at our border.”
