Every year, Congress is responsible for allocating overall funding for offices, programs, and grants administered by the federal government. As your Representative, Rep. Schrier has the opportunity to advocate on behalf of programs that are important to Washington’s 8th Congressional District. For example, if your local fire department benefits from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants, Rep.

Applications for Summer 2026 internships are now CLOSED. 

Applicants should be eager to learn more about the legislative process and want to be part of a hardworking team dedicated to serving Washington’s 8th Congressional District. Interns will work in a fast-paced Congressional office, gaining valuable experience and knowledge of the United States Congress.

Intern responsibilities include answering constituent phone calls, assisting staff with administrative tasks, and conducting legislative research. D.C. office interns can expect to further assist our legislative team, conduct Capitol tours ...
