ISSAQUAH, WA – Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) announced today that several of her priorities have been included in the Energy and Commerce Committee's portion of the Build Back Better Act. The Energy and Commerce Committee held a meeting over the last three days to pass its section of the bill which will lower health care costs, strengthen vaccine confidence, expand Medicare vision coverage, combat climate change, improve access to high-speed internet, and bolster clean energy infrastructure.

The House Agriculture Committee is holding a meeting today to pass its sections of the bill, which would bring hundreds of millions of dollars to Washington state to prevent wildfires and jumpstart rural development and job creation.

The Child Suicide Prevention and Lethal Means Safety Act would invest in training and expanded resources for health care providers to better identify and support young people at risk for suicide.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) recently joined President Joe Biden at the White House as he signed the Major Medical Facility Authorization Act of 2021 into law. Representative Schrier was an original cosponsor of the bill as it was introduced in the House by Representative Colin Allred (TX-32).

WASHINGTON, DC – This week Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) helped the U.S. House of Representatives pass an emergency security funding bill to reimburse National Guard troops who helped supplement security at the U.S. Capitol following the insurrection on January 6th. The Senate passed this bill earlier this week and President Biden is expected to sign it into law today.
