WASHINGTON, DC – On Friday Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) and Bethel School District officials broke ground on a project to construct a school-based health center at Graham-Kapowsin High School. Earlier this month Rep. Schrier announced that this project was one of her 10 priorities to receive funding from the government funding bill.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) announced that she has secured $220 million in federal infrastructure funding for the long-needed downstream fish passage at the Howard Hanson Dam. Rep. Schrier has been pushing for this funding since taking office and led a delegation letter in November urging that this project be funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

ISSAQUAH, WA – This month, as part of government funding legislation, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) voted to increase investments in public safety. The funding from this bipartisan bill signed into law this month will support Washington first responders, local police departments, emergency response, and wildfire prevention.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA) and Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D. (R-IA), the only two women doctors in Congress, have introduced the Supporting Children’s Mental Health Care Access Act, a bill to reauthorize funding for children’s mental and behavioral health programs. This bill would help address the children’s mental health care crisis exacerbated by the pandemic.

ISSAQUAH, WA – Today Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) announced that because of her efforts, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) will be partnering on a new pop-up container yard to ease congestion at the Port of Seattle. The 49-acre “pop-up” site will accept dry agricultural or refrigerated containers for temporary storage.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today the U.S. House passed a bill introduced last year by U.S. Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA), Blake Moore (R-UT), Joe Neguse (D-CO), and Russ Fulcher (R-ID) called the Modernizing Access to our Public Land (MAPLand) Act. This legislation will direct federal land management agencies to digitize and standardize mapping records.
