WASHINGTON, DC — Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) introduced the Newborn Screening Saves Lives Reauthorization Act – a bipartisan bill that is an essential step in our nation’s fight to eliminate preventable childhood deaths and severe disabilities through the increased use of comprehensive and standardized newborn screening tests. The bill reauthorizes assistance to states so they can improve and expand their newborn screening programs.

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) joined a group of Senate and House colleagues to introduce the Cooper Davis and Devin Norring Act to stop drug trafficking on social media platforms and help law enforcement counter the sale of illicit drugs on social media platforms. The bill requires social media companies and other communication service providers to alert federal law enforcement when illegal drug dealing and distribution occur on their platforms.

WASHINGTON, DC - Yesterday, the House passed Congresswoman Kim Schrier’s M.D. (WA-08) Hydropower Licensing Transparency Act. The bipartisan legislation supports Washington’s clean energy sector and affordable energy for ratepayers by enhancing efficiency and transparency for all parties involved in the hydropower dam licensing process. Congresswoman Schrier introduced this bill alongside Congressman Russ Fulcher (ID-01).
