WASHINGTON, DC – Today the U.S. House passed a bill introduced last year by U.S. Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA), Blake Moore (R-UT), Joe Neguse (D-CO), and Russ Fulcher (R-ID) called the Modernizing Access to our Public Land (MAPLand) Act. This legislation will direct federal land management agencies to digitize and standardize mapping records.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) and several of her House colleagues introduced the Gas Prices Relief Act. The bill would help lower high gas costs for Washington families by temporarily suspending the 18.4 cent federal gas tax until January 1, 2023.

ISSAQUAH, WA –Today Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Under Secretary for Rural Development Xochitl Torres Small announced that four farms in the 8thDistrict, Mensonides Farms, Windmill Gardens, Lee’s Fresh Produce, and Windy N Ranch, each received a Value Added Producer Grant of $250,000. According to the USDA, this $1 million investment will support these small family farms, boost local farming and marketing, and also create 18 new jobs and save 5 existing ones.
