WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) celebrates a huge win for fruit growers in Washington’s 8th district. The Office of the United States Trade Representative announced they have reached an agreement with India to lift Section 232 tariffs on US apple exports to India. The Indian government imposed a 20% tax increase on U.S. apples after the U.S. imposed tariffs on India for steel and aluminum in 2018 under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act.

This legislation aims to improve access to nutrition for American families by providing cost-free, healthy food from local farmers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA) and Barry Moore (R-AL) introduced the Forest Data Modernization Act, a bipartisan bill that would modernize data collection efforts of the USFS Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) program. WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the United States House of Representatives passed Congresswoman Kim Schrier’s, M.D. (WA-08) bipartisan bill aimed at improving emergency services in rural communities. The Advanced, Local Emergency Response Telecommunications (ALERT) Parity Act, which was introduced with Congressman Bill Johnson (OH-06), passed the House by a roll call vote of 422-1.
