WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Health Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced two bills introduced by Representative Kim Schrier, M.D. The Expanding Access to Diabetes Self-Management Training Act and H.R. 6369, which are focused on improving health care access and outcomes, received overwhelming, bipartisan support from the subcommittee.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) with members of the Washington and Oregon House delegations celebrated the Department of Energy’s announcement naming the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association’s (PNWH2) as a recipient of one of seven nationwide hydrogen hubs that will share a total $7 billion DOE investment. 

Earlier this year, Rep. Schrier and Sen. Cantwell led a bipartisan group in writing a letter of support for the PNWH2’s application to the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs program (H2Hubs).

GRANITE FALLS, WA – Today, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) visited Granite Falls Library to learn more about the facility’s digital navigator program and celebrate a recent federal investment to expand broadband access. Thanks to funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, Granite Falls Library will add 750 new loanable computers and hotspots to its current inventory. This technology will be available to the public and will help to bring reliable internet access to residents in the area.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Kim Schrier (D-WA) introduced the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act Amendments of 2023, a bipartisan bill to update and improve a loan program that funds critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Washington State. Representatives Dan Newhouse (R-WA), John Garamendi (D-CA), Doug LaMalfa (R-CA), Jim Costa (D-CA), Lori Chavez Deremer (R-OR), and Sharice Davids (D-KS) are co-leading this bill alongside Congresswoman Schrier.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Kim Schrier (D-WA) introduced bipartisan bill H.R. 5381Reforestation, Nurseries, and Genetic Resources (RNGR) Support Act of 2023. This bipartisan legislation seeks to strengthen and secure the national reforestation pipeline by codifying the United States Forest Service’s RNGR program.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Kim Schrier introduced a bipartisan, bicameral bill to fund crucial infrastructure improvements for dams in Washington state and across the nation. This legislation, the National Dam Safety Reauthorization Act, would reauthorize the National Dam Safety Program (NDSP) through FY 2028. Congresswoman Schrier is joined in co-leading this legislation with Representatives Chuck Edwards (R-NC-11), Annie Kuster (D-NH-2), and Brandon Williams (R-NY-22).
