WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) announced a $92.4 million Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for the Apple Capital Loop in Wenatchee.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today the House of Representatives passed Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08)'s amendment to HR 1187, the ESG Disclosure Simplification Act, 380 - 47. The purpose of HR 1187 is to ensure that publicly traded companies are transparent about disclosing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is eyeing similar requirements for businesses to report on climate risks and other ESG matters.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today the Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing on increasing access to life-saving vaccines, no matter a person's age, income, or demographic. One of the bills highlighted at the hearing was Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08)'s bipartisan Strengthening the Vaccines for Children Program Act that was introduced in April.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the House Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee passed the INVEST in America Act that includes three of Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08)'s surface transportation funding priorities. The Committee approved $19,046,200 in the INVEST in America Act for transportation projects throughout Washington's 8th Congressional District. The bill is expected to receive a vote on the House floor later this month.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08), Mike Simpson (ID-02), and Kurt Schrader (OR-05) introduced the National Prescribed Fire Act of 2021 to protect our communities from the catastrophic effects of wildfires. This bipartisan bill would invest in hazardous fuels management by increasing the pace and scale of prescribed burns, create a technically skilled preseason controlled burn workforce, and streamline smoke regulations in winter months to reduce catastrophic fires and smoke in the summer.
