WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) today announced that the bill she introduced with Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA-03), the WIC Waiver Extension Act, has passed the House. The bill was included in the Continuing Resolution to fund the government and is expected to pass the Senate and be signed by the President in the next week.

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act is a bipartisan bill that would set clear, nationwide protections that guarantee pregnant workers the basic right to reasonable accommodations.

"I was saddened to learn that former U.S. Senator Slade Gorton has passed away. Sen. Gorton dedicated over 40 years of service to our country in the military, in the Washington State House, as our state Attorney General, and as our U.S. Senator. Washington state lost one of our champions today. David, Sam, and I send our condolences and prayers to Sen. Gorton's family and loved ones."

ISSAQUAH, WA – Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) today visited the Issaquah Post Office to share stories of 8th district residents whose lives have been affected by delays and cuts to the U.S. Postal Service.
