ISSAQUAH, WA -- Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) today announced that she will host Issaquah High School civics teacher Jacqueline Belur as her guest to the State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Rep. Schrier made the announcement during a Q&A session with over 100 Issaquah High social studies students. Ms. Belur, a graduate of Issaquah High School, is in her 6th year teaching civics and social studies at her alma mater.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) today announced that her fix to help the Washington state agriculture community access critical research grants has been signed into law and implemented by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). Without this fix to the 2018 Farm Bill, Washington growers would have missed out on upcoming grant opportunities.

WASHINGTON— Today, Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) and Lauren Underwood (IL-14) introduced new legislation to help more Americans access the care they need. The Primary and Behavioral Health Care Access Act (H.R. 5575) would require private insurance plans to cover three annual primary care visits and three annual outpatient mental health or outpatient substance use disorder treatment visits without charging a copayment, coinsurance, or deductible-related fee.
