WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) released the following statement after reading reporting by The Spokesman-Review that almost 150 cases of harm were caused within the Mann-Grandstaff system due to a glitch in the new Electronic Health Record system (EHR):
ISSAQUAH, WA – Today, after the Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Office of Inspector General (OIG) released their report on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system rollout at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) vowed to continue to hold the VA accountable to ensure Veterans are receiving the quality care they deserve. The OIG is an internal office tasked with investigations and inspections of VA programs and services.

“Chelan County’s congresswoman, Kim Schrier, is reportedly answering the call from countless veterans who feel they’ve been stonewalled by Wenatchee’s VA Community Outpatient Clinic. Schrier visited the Wenatchee Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) last Thursday. The CBOC in Wenatchee serves Veterans in six Washington counties.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Congresswoman Kim Schrier's, M.D. (WA-08) amendments to assist Veterans and military spouses, and to improve pandemic preparedness passed the House in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2022. The NDAA is legislation passed annually to maintain military readiness, enhance capabilities, and prioritize technological security. It is expected to pass the Senate.
