WASHINGTON, DC – Today Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) announced that local Veteran Jose Medina will be her guest for the 2023 State of the Union Address on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Mr. Medina served for two years as the Wounded Warrior Fellow in Rep. Schrier’s office. The Wounded Warrior Program, also known as the Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program, provides employment opportunities for recently discharged Veterans within the House of Representatives.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023. The NDAA is Congress’ bill to maintain military readiness and increase national security. The legislation includes Rep. Schrier’s amendment to improve child care for families of servicemembers so they can be dependably service-ready. It now heads to the Senate and then the President’s desk to be signed into law.

Last year the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) began the deployment of the Cerner EHR in Spokane.
