WASHINGTON, DC – Today U.S. Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA) and Peter Meijer (R-MI) introduced the Tax Credit for Student Parents Act. This bipartisan bill will make sure that student parents who are working to get a post-secondary degree, including vocational school and two and four-year universities, are eligible to receive the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC), which helps to offset working families’ child care expenses.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today the U.S. House passed several law enforcement funding bills, including a bill Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) is a co-sponsor of, the Invest to Protect Act. The Invest to Protect Act will provide funding to small police departments to make sure they are equipped to respond to emergencies and keep their community safe. The bill passed the House 360-64. New York (CNN Business)A group of Democrats in Congress is calling on President Joe Biden to keep releasing oil from America's emergency stockpile through at least the end of the year.

In a letter obtained first by CNN, eight House Democrats urged Biden on Friday to immediately scrap his current plan to halt releases from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve next month.
