WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, President Biden released his proposed budget, which included $500 million for the Howard Hanson Dam fish passage facility project.

GRANITE FALLS, WA – Today, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) visited Granite Falls Library to learn more about the facility’s digital navigator program and celebrate a recent federal investment to expand broadband access. Thanks to funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, Granite Falls Library will add 750 new loanable computers and hotspots to its current inventory. This technology will be available to the public and will help to bring reliable internet access to residents in the area. 

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Kim Schrier (D-WA) introduced the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act Amendments of 2023, a bipartisan bill to update and improve a loan program that funds critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Washington State. WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) celebrates a huge win for fruit growers in Washington’s 8th district. The Office of the United States Trade Representative announced they have reached an agreement with India to lift Section 232 tariffs on US apple exports to India. The Indian government imposed a 20% tax increase on U.S. apples after the U.S. imposed tariffs on India for steel and aluminum in 2018 under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the United States House of Representatives passed Congresswoman Kim Schrier’s, M.D. (WA-08) bipartisan bill aimed at improving emergency services in rural communities. The Advanced, Local Emergency Response Telecommunications (ALERT) Parity Act, which was introduced with Congressman Bill Johnson (OH-06), passed the House by a roll call vote of 422-1.
