WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, the United States House of Representatives passed the bipartisan Thomas R. Carper Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (WRDA), biennial legislation that authorizes water resource activities of the Army Corps of Engineers. WASHINGTON, D.C – On May 20, the EPA selected Forterra NW for a Brownfields Cleanup Grant funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that Congresswoman Schrier voted to pass. Grant funds will be used to clean up the Roslyn Number 4 Mine in the City of Roslyn. The 30-acre coal mine began operations in the 1880s and was shut down in 1909 following a mine explosion. After the closure, a foundry built for the mine continued to process coal from other mines until the mid-1970s.

Thanks to funding from the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act, the program has helped expand access to high-speed internet by providing eligible households with a discount of up to $30 per month and a one-time discount on necessary equipment like laptops, desktop computers and tablets, according to Schrier’s communications team.
