(R-WV) today introduced the Strengthening the Vaccines for Children Program Act that will build on and improve the successful Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. The VFC program helps ensure all children receive recommended vaccines by providing no-cost immunizations. Almost half of all childhood vaccines are provided through the VFC program.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, on the 11th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee held a hearing on ways to enhance the ACA. And one of the bills that was considered was the Kids' Access to Primary Care Act, a bipartisan bill introduced by Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) to expand access to care by aligning Medicaid rates with Medicare payment rates.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today the U.S. House passed the bipartisan Farm Workforce Modernization Act (HR 1603) sponsored by Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08). The Farm Workforce Modernization Act, which was negotiated with input from agricultural stakeholders and labor organizations, makes meaningful reforms to the H-2A agricultural guestworker program.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) today participated in an Oversight and Investigations hearing about increasing the availability of COVID-19 vaccines. In the course of Rep Schrier's questioning, Dr. Anthony Fauci agreed that all three authorized vaccines are safe, extremely effective at preventing death and hospitalization, and that every American would do well to take whichever vaccine they can. Dr. Fauci and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky also agreed that more rapid testing is needed to crush the coronavirus.
