AUBURN, WA – Today U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) joined President Joe Biden for an event about lowering costs for American families at Green River College in Auburn. Several 8th District residents joined the Congresswoman and President to speak about how increasing health care and prescription drug costs have affected their families.
WASHINGTON, DC – During a Health Subcommittee hearing this week, U.S. Representative Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) posed questions to experts on the need for her proposal, the “Supporting Children’s Mental Health Care Access Act,” a bill to reauthorize funding for programs that help address the pediatric mental health workforce shortage. WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA) and Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D. (R-IA), the only two women doctors in Congress, have introduced the Supporting Children’s Mental Health Care Access Act, a bill to reauthorize funding for children’s mental and behavioral health programs. This bill would help address the children’s mental health care crisis exacerbated by the pandemic.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today U.S. Representatives Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA) and Richard Hudson (R-NC) introduced a bill to prevent and address staffing shortages during disaster and pandemic responses (HR 6634).
“Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) and Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) are reintroducing the Healthy Meal Time Act to reduce food waste in schools and further ensure that kids have the time to eat a proper meal.
“Washington Rep. Kim Schrier says the promised 10 million rapid tests in schools are a step in the right direction, but she wants more.”
Kim Schrier, a Democrat, is a physician and represents Washington’s 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House.
In the midst of the holiday season and with omicron, the highly contagious coronavirus variant, spreading around the world, this is a time when the United States ought to be providing inexpensive — or, even better, free — rapid coronavirus tests to anyone who wants one.
