US Highway 2 Safety Improvements - Sultan, WA - 319 Main Street, Suite 200, Sultan, WA 98294

The funding would be used for improvements along US Highway 2 which have been identified by a local transportation impact study. This project includes consultant services for roundabout design, environmental review, and preliminary engineering necessary to advance the project. This project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because regional traffic congestion concerns have limited economic development opportunities Sultan. With a rapidly growing population, Sultan is well positioned to support manufacturing and light industrial development with a local workforce. However, concerns including freight reliability and the need for efficient and timely shipping and receiving on US Highway 2 have limited development. This project would support local business growth, improve regional transportation reliability, and improve the safety of infrastructure relied on by travelers across Washington state.
