North Central Regional Healthcare Training Center Equipment

North Central Regional Healthcare Training Center Equipment - Chelan, WA - 110 S. Apple Blossom Drive, Chelan, WA 98816

Amount Requested: $696,683

The funding would be used for the purchase of healthcare training equipment for Lake Chelan Health. This equipment would include procedural manikins, realistic lifecasts, hardware and software for an augmented reality medical simulator, and related healthcare training technology and tools. Training would be available for the full spectrum of regional healthcare roles, including nurses, physicians, CNAs, ER technicians, EMTs, paramedics, Obstetrics nurses, Operating Room nurses, MAs (registered or certified medical assistants), PAs (Physician Assistants), and new nurse onboarding cohorts. The project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because increasing access to critical medical training would strengthen healthcare quality, emergency preparedness, and rural workforce sustainability across Central Washington. The project would reduce local healthcare costs by improving clinical quality and preventing errors, preparing the region for emergencies, disasters, and public health threats, and reducing the financial strain on the small rural hospitals and EMS agencies in the area.

The program is supported by local medical system partners, including Columbia Valley Community Health, the University of Washington Rural Health Family Residency Program, and the North Central Emergency Care Council (Regional EMS Council).
