WASHINGTON, DC – Last month, Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) announced that all 10 of her Community Project Funding requests were granted in the latest government spending bill, bringing home over $11 million to local projects across the district. The Bethel School District received funding to build a school health clinic.
“The funding Representative Schrier obtained for a School Based Health Clinic will provide ready access to quality medical, dental and behavioral health services for the 3500 students at Graham-Kapowsin High School and the adjacent middle and elementary schools. We know the lack of local health care services and public transportation are a major impediment to the health and readiness of our students to learn. This clinic will greatly improve student learning outcomes and improve the quality of their lives. The city of Roslyn received funding for wildfire reduction efforts.

Sammamish Plateau Water received funding for a PFAS Treatment Plant.

The Ellensburg Water Treatment Facility received funding for renewable gas conversion and recovery.
"We are very excited to have the funding to make improvements to Ellensburg's Wastewater Treatment Plant that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This funding provides the ability to fully utilize the recaptured biomethane and create Renewable Natural Gas from the wastewater treatment process. This project is a big win for our sewer utility customers - the treatment plant upgrade will save time on operation and maintenance costs, and the sale of the captured and reclaimed biogas is expected to generate up to $300,000 per year in revenue that will be passed on to customers. The city of Entiat and Chelan PUD received funding for broadband expansion.
