Rep. Schrier Statement on Issaquah Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
WASHINGTON, DC -- Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) today released the following statement on the Issaquah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the COVID-19 outbreak:
"My condolences go out to the family members and friends of the patient who passed away from COVID-19 this weekend. I am saddened to hear that additional cases of COVID-19 have been found at the Issaquah Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Given the severity of what happened at the Life Care facility in Kirkland and how fast it spread, my staff and I have reached out to Issaquah Nursing & Rehab to offer help. I want to make sure that testing at the facility is done expeditiously, staff are properly fitted for masks, and optimal infection control measures are in place. I will continue to speak with local officials, King County Public Health, and the CDC, and will monitor the situation at the facility and around the 8th District."
