Rep. Schrier Holds 50th Town Hall

July 2, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) announced today that she has held her 50th town hall. Rep. Schrier has continued to hold telephone and virtual town halls through the coronavirus pandemic.

"One of my favorite parts of being a member of Congress is getting to hear directly from my constituents about the issues that are most important to them," said Rep. Schrier. "This pandemic has meant that we cannot meet in person. However, now more than ever it is important to me to learn about the lives of my constituents and the struggles they are facing during this pandemic, whether those are health or financial. I look forward to holding more virtual town halls this Summer and look forward to the day when we will be able to meet again in person."

Since taking office, Rep. Schrier has held 50 town halls: 26 town halls in 2019 and 24 so far in 2020. This year Rep. Schrier has held five telephone town halls specifically on the coronavirus pandemic, including one last night with Washington State Health Officer Dr. Kathy Lofy. And Rep. Schrier started a virtual series of town halls called Coffee Breaks with Kim last month, holding four Coffee Breaks with Kim in the month of June. Constituents who are interested in participating in upcoming town halls can visit Rep. Schrier's social media accounts or /about/events for a list of upcoming events.
