CPF Fish Food Bank and Food Pantry Expansion

Friends in Service to Humanity (FISH)
804 Elmview Road
Ellensburg, Washington 98926

Amount Requested: $900,000.00

The funds from the Community Project Fund will be used to construct a larger warehouse for more efficient storage and distribution of food.

FISH Food Bank currently distributes more than 1 million pounds of food to the five food pantries in Kittitas County, including the pantry in Ellensburg operated by FISH. FISH serves some of the most vulnerable, low-income residents in Kittitas County. Compared to other residents in Washington State, a higher percentage of residents in Kittitas County are rural, 65 years and over, have incomes below the poverty level, are live in housing units with substandard conditions, and live in households with severe housing cost burden. A larger warehouse with better storage abilities will help FISH expand their services to serve more of the community at high risk of food insecurity.
