CPF CLE Elum Ridge Phase 1: Roslyn/Ronald/CLE ELUM Community Wildfire Protection Plan

City of Roslyn
201 S 1st Street
Roslyn, WA 98941

Amount Requested: $967,000.00

The requested funds will be spent on a combination of activities designed to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire and to improve forest health. Projects include thinning and mastication, prescribed burning, prescribed fire workforce development, and the implementation of a chipper program to allow home hardening efforts to be accessible to more homeowners.

When wildfire strikes there is no limit to the taxpayer dollars that are used to rebuild homes and lives. This project can also mitigate the potential of fires developing into megafires. By focusing resources on hardening homes and escape routes (chipper programs and road work) this project will positively affect firefighter, resident, and visitor safety. With only one primary way in and out of the valley, working on the egress and emergency routes is critical.
