Bethel Schools Graham Community Center Project

Bethel School District
516 176th Street East
Spanaway, WA 98387

Amount Requested: $1,000,000

Bethel Schools owns an 87 acre property adjacent to a High School, Middle School and an Elementary School. This project would update and remodel the home to be used as a community center. The community center would house the work and life training for the school district’s 18–21-year-old special education transition program, as well as be used as a food and clothing pantry. Additionally, the center would be a space for teens to receive mentoring and tutoring and for seniors to gather.

This community center will help create opportunities for older special needs students, equipping them with the skills they need to be successful workers and contributors to the community. Additionally, in a region struggling with generational poverty the resources this center will provide will give youth a foundation to grow up to be prepared for college and/or a successful career.
