Muckleshoot Indian Tribe

Auburn, WA 98092-9763

Amount Requested: $810,000

The Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Surveillance Enhancement Project would support a growing need to enhance the digital infrastructure of the Tribe; specifically, the Surveillance Infrastructure of the various tribe owned properties which are located not only within the reservation boundaries but also extend into the towns of Auburn, WA and Enumclaw, WA. The project will replace existing servers and storage central to retaining on premise footage recorded through the surveillance software platform. The system is a multi-blade server that runs cloud computing software to centralize management of surveillance servers that are required for the 870 cameras deployed across 46 property sites/sectors. The existing server system has been end of life since 2022, making the replacement of this storage system critical to ongoing surveillance efforts. Because the server system is an on premise, hardware-based solution, procurement of physical spare parts becomes increasingly difficult. Furthermore, as the software side of the solution is now end-of-life, it poses a cybersecurity threat as monitoring and patching for vulnerabilities becomes less frequent.
